Braun Scores Twice to Help Take Win Over Mont Alto

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – Playoffs have arrived, and Penn State New Kensington men's soccer has started off hot. The Lions score five goals to win the PSUAC Quarterfinals match versus Penn State Mont Alto.

Senior Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa. / Penn Trafford) kicked things off 29th minute when he scored a goal from a corner kick by Jordan Cooper (Fairfax, Pa. / Robinson). Mont Alto started playing with more energy and scored early in the second half to even things up. Braun ended up scoring his second goal on a free kick in the 63rd minute to give the Lions a 2-1 advantage. To give the Lions a two-goal cushion, Austin Arnold (Washington, Pa. / Chartiers-Houston) found the back of the net off a pass from Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) in the 70th minute. Cooper and William Root (Columbus, Ohio / Canal Winchester) also contributed late goals to give the Lions a 5-1 victory in the PSUAC Quarterfinals.

Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif. / Santa Ana) faced four shots on goal in net for New Kensington and tallied three saves to help his team take the victory over Mont Alto.

New Kensington will move on to the semifinals to face Penn State Lehigh, whom the Lions beat 3-1 early in October. The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 30th, at 3:30p.m.
