Lions end season with draw

Lehigh Valley, PA- New Kensington took to the road tonight for a showdown with third place PSU Lehigh Valley. Both teams played soundly on the defensive end in the first half, playing to a 0-0 tie at the break.

The Lions got the scoring started in the second half, as sophomore Ryan Wurzer (Lower Burrell, PA) netted the first goal of the contest on a great assist from sophomore Jordan Cooper (Fairfax, VA) in the 51^st minute. Lehigh Valley responded in the 62^nd minute, to knot the score at 1-1.

New Kensington reclaimed the lead in the 77^th minute on a beautiful unassisted goal by freshmen Benjamin Gigliotti (Punxsutawney, PA). The Lions held the lead into the waning minutes of play, but Lehigh Valley notched the equalizer in the 88^th minute.

The Lions finish the regular season with a record of 11-2-1 overall and 7-1-1 in conference play. New Kensington clinched a first-round bye for the PSUAC playoffs and will host the winner of PSU Mont Alto and PSU Lehigh Valley this Saturday, October 29^th at the athletic field.
