After a successful high school playing year at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., Coach Simplice Njoya was sought out by a number of top NCAA Division I men's basketball programs including University of Las Vegas, Southern California, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, University of Pittsburgh, and Duquesne University.  He ultimately chose Duquesne University. The two years he spent playing for Duquesne helped polish his game, and he was named Rookie of the Week as well as Top 25 Best Big Men in USA Class of 2000 by ESPN. He transferred to The University of Memphis, the number one team in the country at the time, with three Conference USA championships and an NCAA Elite 8 Runner-Up.  Simplice finished his college career in 2006 with 2 bachelor degrees and started coaching AAU teams and leagues during his off-season with The Kebs of Quebec, Canada.

Following the conclusion of his playing career, Simplice furthered his professional career in obtaining his Master’s in Sports Psychology along with multiple certifications.  He provides an edge in his training with his knowledge as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Injury Reduction Trainer. 

Prior to joining Penn State New Kensington, Simplice was highly involved in player development and basketball specific training for high school, AAU and athletes in the tri-state area.

His knowledge and experience with winning teams will ensure the development of an elite, successful basketball program with an engrained winning culture at Penn State New Kensington.  He has terrific national and international recruiting connections and is an excellent and passionate teacher of the game.
 
Simplice and his wife Amber reside in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with their daughter, Isabella.
