Tough Road loss for the Lady Lions

Mont Alto, PA - The Lady Lions took to the road last night for a showdown with conference leader, PSU Mont Alto. New Kensington dropped three sets in succession (25-15, 25-10, 25-16) on their way to a 3-0 defeat.

New Kensington had a tough night on offense, finishing only 19 of 57 total attack attempts. Sophomore Elliott Ferrent (Punxsutawney, PA) (9) and freshmen Emily Lewandowski (New Kensington, PA) (8) led New Kensington in kills, while junior Hannah Pastor (New Kensington, PA) and freshmen Maci Frazer (Burrell, PA) chipped in a kill apiece for the Lady Lions.

New Kensington held their own on defense, tallying 42 total digs on the night, with all eight Lady Lions getting involved. Sophomore Kayla Unger (Carlisle, PA) led the team in assists once again, successfully setting her teammates up 11 times.

The loss drops New Kensington to 8-16 overall and 3-8 in conference on the year. The Lady Lions look to finish the season on a positive note as they host PSU Du Bois this Saturday, October 22nd at the wellness center.
