New Kensington Volleyball bested by Penn State Fayette

NEW KENSINGON, Pa. – On Saturday, the Penn State New Kensington volleyball team was defeated by Penn State Fayette by the score of 3-0. Fayette won with the set scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-11.

With this loss, the New Kensington Lions fall to (1-6) on the season and (0-4) in conference play.

The lions were led by freshman Elliot Ferrent (Punxsutawney, Pa. / Punxsutawney) and Kylie DiLeo (Sprindale, Pa./ Springdale) who led the team with six total points each. Ferrent also added six kills. DiLeo added four kills and nine digs to help her team battle. Kayla Unger (Carlisle, Pa./ Carlisle) added a team high of 19 assists.

The Lions will look to bounce back from this tough loss when they face Westmoreland County Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 28. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00p.m.
