Volleyball defeated in PSUAC opener

NEW KENSINGON, Pa. - In the opening night in PSUAC play, Penn State New Kensington women's volleyball was defeated by Penn State Shenango, 3-1. New Kensington, who is now 1-3 overall, won the first set 25-21, but then fell 25-18, 25-22, and 25-23. 

Freshman Kylie DiLeo (Springdale, Pal/Springdale) led the Lions on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, putting down 12 kills and picking up 13 digs. She also had a team-high five aces on the night.

Fellow first-year Gabby Wolfkill (Mifflin, Pa./Mifflin) tallied nine kills, while setter Kayla Unger (Carlise, Pa./Carlise) ran the offense with 22 assists and had ten digs of her own. 

New Kensington returns to PSUAC action when it travels to Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday, Sept. 18. First serve is at 2:00 p.m.
