Lady Lions Fall to PSU Fayette at Home

New Kensington, PA- The Lady Lions welcomed Penn State Fayette to the athletic center last night for another PSUAC showdown.

New Kensington started strong in the first quarter, holding Fayette to only 20% shooting on their way to a 9-7 lead after one. Fayette got things going offensively in the second, but the Lady Lions kept things close, entering the half down 25-19.

Fayette started to pull away in the third, but the Lady Lions were able to keep their deficit in single digits entering the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, New Kensington's early success fell short, as Fayette caught fire in the 4th en route to a 64-42 victory.

The Lady Lions were led offensively by freshmen guard Najah Perryman's (Woodbridge, VA) 24 points and 6 rebounds. Senior forward Shaylynne Boitnott (Meadville, PA) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds on the night, while freshmen forward Esther Cole (Brooklyn, NY) added 8 boards of her own.

New Kensington will travel to Sharon, PA this Saturday, January 28th to take on 2nd place Penn State Shenango in a PSUAC West contest.
