Women’s Basketball drops two on the road

HAZLETON, Pa. – Over the weekend, the Penn State New Kensington women's basketball team dropped to conference games. On Friday, the Lions fell to Penn State Hazleton 77-29 before taking a 65-43 loss from Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday. With the losses, New Ken moves to 0-11 overall and 0-8 in the conference.

Against Hazleton, Deshaya Chavis (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) led New Kensington with 15 points. Shaylynne Boitnott (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) recorded a double-double with twelve points and a team-high twelve rebounds.

Against Schuylkill, Chavis once again led the Lions in scoring with 18 points and also had a game-high five steals. Ryliegh Beck (Saegertown, Pa./Maplewood) added 13 points and team-high nine rebounds.

New Kensington will look to bounce back when they face Butler County Community College on Monday, Dec. 20.
