New Kensington Defeated By D'Youville

Dubois, PA - D'Youville fired up the offense in the first inning.

In the bottom of the second inning, New Ken tied things up at one when an error scored one run for the Lions.

After D'Youville scored two runs in the top of the sixth, New Kensington answered with two of their own.  D'Youville scored when Jamie Bower singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and an error scored one run for D'Youville.  New Ken then answered when Freshman Antonia Velasquez singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

D'Youville pulled away for good with one run in the third inning.  In the third Lauren Booth singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Sarah Parzych was on the rubber for D'Youville. The ace surrendered three runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Freshman Addyson Gregg led things off in the pitcher's circle for New Ken. Gregg surrendered five runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking one.

New Kensington tallied seven hits in the game.  Velasquez and Kiera Mack each racked up multiple hits for the Lions.  Velasquez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead New Ken in hits.

D'Youville saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game.  Bryanna Dewey and Booth each managed multiple hits for D'Youville.
