Lady Lions Lose in Extra Innings

New Kensington lost the lead late in a 6-4 defeat to DuBois on Sunday. The game was tied at four with DuBois batting in the top of the eighth when.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, New Ken tied things up at four when Antonia Velasquez grounded out, scoring one run.

DuBois scored three runs in the fifth inning. DuBois offense in the inning was led by Kelsey Stuart, Paige Pieta, and Jordan Bundy, all driving in runs in the frame.

Megan Hyde led things off on the rubber for DuBois. Hyde lasted four innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out one.

Addyson Gregg was in the pitcher's circle for New Ken. Gregg lasted eight innings, allowing ten hits and five runs while striking out seven.

New Kensington collected eight hits on the day. Madison Hoyt, Molly Collins, and Olivia Waldrop each had multiple hits for New Ken. Waldrop, Collins, and Hoyt each collected two hits to lead New Ken.
