Lions Beats Franciscan Behind Gregg's No-Hitter

Freshman Addyson Gregg (Carlisle, PA), was brilliant in the circle on Thursday, as Gregg threw a no-hitter to lead New Kensington past Franciscan 8-0.

The Lions secured the victory thanks to five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by New Kensington was led by Sophomore Elliott Ferrent (Punxsutawney, PA), Freshman Delaney Sierka (Bethel Park, PA), and Olivia Waldrop (Valencia, PA), all knocking in runs in the inning.

The Lions got things started in the first inning when freshmen Kiera Mack (Penn Hills, PA) grounded out, scoring one run.

New Kensington tallied five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from an error on a ball put in play by Sierka, Ferrent, and Waldrop.

Gregg led things off in the pitcher's circle for New Kensington. The ace surrendered zero runs on zero hits over six innings, striking out 11 and walking zero.

The Lions tallied one home run on the day. Gregg had a dinger in the fifth inning.

New Kensington totaled nine hits in the game. Freshmen Madison Hoyt (Dubois, PA) and Senior Molly Collins (Verona, PA) each racked up multiple hits for the Lions. Hoyt led New Ken with three hits in three at bats.
