Men’s Soccer Competes in USCAA National Championship

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Penn State New Kensington men's soccer made their program debut at the USCAA National Championship, playing two matches in pool play. In their first game, New Kensington fell to Berkeley-NJ with the score of 6-0. For the second match, New Kensington lost to Penn State Brandywine with the score of 5-0.

Berkeley-NJ

In the match against Berkeley-NJ, the Lions accounted for four shots on goal while Berkeley recorded 15 shots on goal. Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) tallied two of the shots on goal for the Lions. Austin Arnold (Washington, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) and Jacob Guerrini (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Burrell) each had one shot on goal as well.

Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif. / Santa Ana) and AJ Collins (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) both played goalkeeper in this matchup. Rea tallied six saves, while Collins accounted for two saves.

Penn State Brandywine

Against Brandywine, New Kensington tallied five shots on goal while Brandywine had 15 shots on goal. Five different players on New Kensington each had one shot on goal. Arnold, Guerrini, Johngarlo, Ryan Wurzer (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Burrell), and Jordan Cooper (Fairfax, Va. / Robinson) each ended with one shot on goal.

Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif. / Santa Ana) and AJ Collins (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) split time in goal again against Brandywine. Rea recorded six saves, while Collins had four.

New Kensington finishes their historic season with a record of 12-7.
