Men’s Soccer Playoff Run Ends in Semifinals

NORTHAMPTON, Pa. – After a strong start to the playoffs, the Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team concluded their run semifinal round of the PSUAC Playoffs following a 5-1 loss to Penn State Lehigh Valley.

New Kensington started slow, allowing a goal in the tenth minute of the game. Up until the 86th minute, the Lions were held without a goal. Then, Jordan Cooper (Fairfax, Pa. / Robinson) scored New Kensington's only goal of the match. As a freshman, Cooper was in the top five in both goals scored and assists in the PSUAC.

New Kensington ended with nine total shots, with four of those shots being on goal. Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa. / Penn Trafford) led the team with four shots and two shots on goal.

Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif. / Santa Ana) made five saves in goal for New Kensington.

Penn State New Kensington, under fourth-year head coach Mark Duffield, has had a record-breaking season with 12 wins and 82 goals scored.
