Men's Soccer Shuts Out Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team won their fourth straight game with a 2-0 victory against Penn State Mont Alto.

The Lions (7-3) opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a goal by freshman Jordan Cooper (Fairfax, Va / Robinson). Cooper's goal was assisted by Jose Del Carmen Montenegro (Napa, Calif. / Justin Siena). Cooper added an insurance goal for New Ken in the 73rd minute, marking his tenth goal of the season. Cooper led the team with seven total shots on goal, with Jacob Guerrini (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Burrell) right behind him with five shots on goal.

New Kensington held a large advantage in shots on goal with 20 versus only four for Mont Alto. 

Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif. / Santa Ana) recorded three saves in net for the Lions. 

New Kensington looks to continue their win streak when they face Carlow on Monday, Oct. 4th, at 4:00p.m.
