Guerrini Score Four Goals as New Ken Cruises Past Villa Maria

New Kensington, Pa. – After losing their first two games of the season, the Penn State New Kensington Lions won their first game of the year against Villa Maria with the score of 10-5.

The Lions (1-2) started off strong with two goals in ten minutes. Freshman Austin Arnold (Washington, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) found the net for the first time for the Lions on a cross from senion Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area). A few minutes later, Jacob Guerrini (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Burrell) tallied a goal of his own.

Guerrini went on to score three more time in the half, helping the Lions keep their momentum and a 6-3 lead at half. Arnold and Vincent Gigliotti (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney) each gave Guerrini a helper. Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa./Penn Trafford) scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Guerrini.

The scoring didn't stop in the second half as Arnold found the back of the net two more times and Braun added his second goal.  

Guerrini finished with four goals and two assists and Arnold ended with three goals and one assist.

Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif./Santa Ana) made six saves in goal for the Lions.

New Kensington looks to continue their winning ways when they travel to Penn State Fayette on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 4:00p.m.
