Men's Soccer Tripped Up by Pitt.-Johnstown

New Kensington, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team faced off against Pitt-Johnstown Tuesday afternoon, falling 5-1.

The Lions (0-2) went down 1-0 early from an accidental own goal. Pitt-Johnstown kept their momentum and scored two more times before the end of the first half to go up 3-0

Vincent Gigliotti (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney) put New Kensington on the board when he scored an unassisted goal in the 55th minute.

Although the Lions started off the second half strong, Pitt-Johnstown scored two more goals to extend their lead to 5-1, the final score.

Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif./Santa Ana) played goalkeeper in the first half and accounted for five saves, while AJ Collins (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) played in the second half and tallied up two saves.

New Kensington is back in action for another home contest as they face Villa Maria on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 1:00p.m.
