Men's Soccer Falls to Berkeley NJ in Season Opener

New Kensington, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team scored first, but was unable to hold onto its lead as it fell to Berekeley College New Jersey on Friday. 

Freshman midfielder Jacob Guerrini (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) started his collegiate career out with a bang, tallying an unassisted goal in the 28th minute of play. 

The Lions held their lead for under thirteen minutes when Berkeley scored back-to-back goals within seconds of each other. The Knights added another goal in the second half to make the final score 3-1. 

Sophomore AJ Collins (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) and freshman Pablo Rea (Tustin, Calif./Santa Ana) split time in goal for New Kensington and registered eight and three saves, respectively.

New Kensington is back in action for another home contest as they face Pitt.-Johnstown on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 4:00p.m.
