New Kensington Triumphs Over Shenango: Feaster's Milestone Leads the Way

New Kensington, PA - In a thrilling matchup on Saturday, Feb. 3rd, Penn State New Kensington emerged victorious against Penn State Shenango, with standout guard Aubrey Feaster II from Buffalo, NY, reaching a significant career milestone during the game.

Feaster, a third-year guard for PSNK, achieved a remarkable feat by scoring his 1,000th point on the court. Known for his consistent scoring prowess, Feaster has been averaging an impressive 19.3 points per game, showcasing his proficiency with a free throw percentage of 73.6 and a field goal percentage of 53.9.

Reflecting on Feaster's achievement, PSNK's Coach Brant Mack expressed his pride, stating, "It is great to see the hard work paying off for Aubrey. He is a tremendous player, but an even better human, and I couldn't be happier with his achievement. He's only a junior and is going to accomplish so much more on the court and off the court. We are looking forward to seeing all his success."

The game began with both teams locked in a tight battle, with the scoreboard tied at 2-2 until New Kensington surged ahead. With just 8 minutes remaining in the first half, Feaster showcased his scoring prowess, netting 5 crucial points before sinking a 3-pointer that marked his 1,000th point milestone.

Although Shenango managed to close the gap, New Kensington maintained a narrow one-point lead heading into halftime, with the score standing at 36-35.

As the second half commenced, Ta'Rasi Means from Plum, PA, took charge for PSNK, contributing 6 pivotal points early on, propelling PSNK to a total of 42 points. Means continued his stellar performance throughout the half, ultimately scoring 18 points, crucial in securing the victory for PSNK with a final score of 83.

Feaster's milestone, combined with Means' impressive performance, and 15 points from Jadyn Benson of Chicago, Ill., played a significant role in PSNK's triumph. Additionally, PSNK's solid free throw shooting, boasting a 49.2% success rate, and efficient field goal shooting at 66.7%, further solidified their dominance on the court.

In a post-game statement, Coach Mack praised the team's resilience and dedication, noting, "The team has been working hard and fine-tuning some things. We faced a lot of adversity over the last couple of months which has forced us to improve. We are playing a lot harder and more disciplined."
