New Kensington, PA- The Lions looked to lock up third place in the conference and a birth in the playoffs as they welcomed Penn State Greater Allegheny to the athletic center Tuesday night.

Both teams came out with a purpose, trading leads back and forth throughout the greater part of the first half. The Lions really got things going with just under 9 minutes left, using a 19-2 run to take their largest lead of the first half at 37-24. Overall, New Kensington shot 53% from the field over the first 20 minutes on their way to a 45-36 lead at the break.

The Lions managed to keep Greater Allegheny at a distance for majority of the second half, but they used a run of their own to cut the lead to 60-57 with just under 10 minutes to play. New Kensington tightened things up down the stretch, never giving up the lead en route to a much needed 73-67 victory.

New Kensington got timely performances from several players, with five Lions finishing in double digits on the night. Sophomore guard Aubrey Feaster (Buffalo, N.Y.) led all scorers with 17 points and 6 rebounds, while fellow starting freshman guard Ta'Rasi Means (Plum, Pa) and sophomore forward Jovan Kojic (Subotica, Serbia) added 12 and 10 points respectively. The Lions bench had a huge impact on the outcome, with freshman forward Senique Jenkins (Columbus, Ohio) and sophomore guard Jadyn Benson (Chicago, Il) combining for 25 points in limited action.

The Lions clinched 3rd place in the conference with the win and will travel to McKeesport, PA this Sunday, February 26th at 3:00 PM for another matchup with Penn State Greater Allegheny in the first round of the PSUAC playoffs.
