Lions Bounce Back in Convincing Fashion

Scranton, PA- The men's basketball team traveled to Northeastern Pennsylvania for their first of two back-to-back PSUAC cross over contests against PSU Scranton.

The Lions managed to take the lead right from the opening tip, and never looked back. They used a 13-4 run over the last 5 minutes of the first half to take a 37-23 into the break. New Kensington continued to apply the pressure throughout the second half, holding Scranton to only 34% shooting, on their way to a decisive 80-51 victory.

New Kensington dominated the paint throughout, outscoring Scranton 30-12 down low and holding a 37-28 edge in rebounding. The Lions were also aided by huge contributions from their bench, which combined for 40 total points as a unit.

Sophomore guard Aubrey Feaster (Buffalo, NY) led all scorers with 15 points on 7-8 from the field, while sophomore guard Shyheim Flanagan (Breaux Bridge, LA) added 9 points.  Freshmen guard Ta'Rasi Means (Plum, PA) chipped in 12 points in only 17 minutes off the bench. Fellow reserves, freshmen guard Donaven Johnson (Houston, TX) added 9 points of his own and senior forward Jaden Stonework (Clinton, MD) added 8 points and 5 rebounds.

The Lions will look to make it a clean sweep tomorrow afternoon as they travel down the road to play PSU Wilkes-Barre in their second conference matchup in as many days.
