New Kensington Drops PSUAC Contact to Mont Alto

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – After starting off the game down 20-3, the deficit was too much for New Kensington to bounce back from. New Kensington lost second straight game, a 88-65 loss to Penn State Mont Alto.

New Kensington falls to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC). Mont Alto improves to 9-2 and 5-1 in the PSUAC.

In the first half, New Kensington was led by Shyheim Flanagan (St. Martinville, La. / Westside) with six points. Joseph Dusabe (Toronto, Ont. / Fox Chapel) and Evan Clarke (Aston, Pa. / Garnet Valley) also contributed with five points each in the first half. New Kensington found themselves down 50-29 at half.

New Kensington seemed to keep the same pace going into the second half. Although they did not fix the shooting problems from the first half, they were only outscored 38-36 in the second half.

Clarke led New Kensington in total points with 13, while Flanagan was second with ten points and led the team in assists with five. Dusabe and Gary Bonner (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) each contributed eight points.

New Kensington is back in action when they host Penn State Fayette in another PSUAC contest on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 8:00p.m.
