Cunningham records a double-double in conference loss

TANNERSVILLE, Pa. – On Saturday, Penn State New Kensington men's basketball faced off against Penn State  Lehigh Valley in its first conference game of the season and just fell short of a victory with the score of 79-76.

In the first half, New Kensington seemed to have the upper hand on Lehigh Valley, outscoring Lehigh Valley 41-34. Aubrey Feaster II (Buffalo, N.Y. / William B. Travis) and Shyheim Flanagan (St. Martinville, La. / Westside) led the team with 14 points each in the first half.

In the second half, New Kensington started to let Lehigh Valley back into the game, eventually being overtaken.

Feaster led the Lions with 22 points and also added four assists. Flanagan finished with 19 points. Benjamin Cunningham (Woodbridge, Va. / Christ Chapel Academy) ended with 13 points and ten rebounds to give him his first collegiate double-double.

New Kensington looks to bounce back at home on Tuesday, Nov. 23, when they face Franciscan University at 6:00p.m.
