Men’s Basketball lose exhibition game against Clarion

CLARION, Pa. – On November 16, New Kensington men's basketball faced a tough opponent in Clarion and went home with a 90-75 loss. Although this was an exhibition match, New Kensington fought hard against a tough opponent.

Lions were outscored in the first half 44-26. New Kensington had eleven fouls and ten turnovers and only shot 33% in the half and 38% from the three-point line. Aubrey Feaster II (Buffalo, N.Y. / William B. Travis) and Shyheim Flanagan (St. Martinville, La. / Westside) led the Lions with eight points each in the first half.

The second half is when New Kensington started to turn the game around. Feaster scored another 13 points in the second half, alongside Joseph Dusabe (Toronto, Ont. / Fox Chapel) who scored ten points in the second half. The Lions also shot the ball a lot better in this second off, connecting on 47% from the field.

The Lions were led by Feaster in scoring with 21 points. Off the bench, Ta'Rasi Means (Plum, Pa. / Plum), added an additional ten points. Dusabe led the Lions in rebounds with eight total, but the Lions were outrebounded as a team by a 63-39 difference.

The Lions begin conference play at Penn State Brandywine on Friday, Nov. 19 at 8:00 p.m.
