The Lions Hold Onto Victory

Myrtle Beach, SC - Penn State New Kensington played against Salem Community College on Tuesday. New Ken got out to a 5 run lead in the third inning and held on for a 9-8 victory over Salem CC. 

The Lions got on the board in the first inning after Nat Greenslet drew a walk, scoring one run. 

PSNK added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Braden Tristani hit a sacrifice fly, Jobeth Diaz Osorio was hit by a pitch and Miguel Garcia was hit by a pitch, each scoring one run. 

Hugo Player opened the game for the Lions. The southpaw surrendered six hits and four runs, only one earned, over five innings, striking out five. Greenslet tossed one inning of scoreless ball for the Lions in relief. Greenslet gave up one hit, striking out one and walking one. Thomas Santiago Jr. led the team going 2 for 3 at the plate. Diaz and Tristani each drove in two runs for New Ken. Jared Busche, John Galeano Del Castillo, and Karter Weitzel each stole multiple bases on the night.
