Strong Hitting Not Enough As New Ken Falls to New River

Myrtle Beach, SC - Penn State New Kensington played against New River Community College on Tuesday.  Even though New Kensington collected 14 hits to New River's six, they still fell 8-5. 

Karter Weitzel Collected three hits in four at bats in the loss. Weitzel doubled in the fourth, singled in the second and the sixth. 

New Ken got on the board in the second inning after Thomas Santiago (Jersey City, NJ) singled, scoring two runs.

New River took the lead in the bottom of the fifth, after a couple key hits. 

Tim Morris (Plum, PA) stepped on the mound first for the Lions.  Morris allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out one. 

The Lions accumulated 14 hits in the game. Santiago led the Lions with three runs batted in, going 2 for 3 on the day. Jared Busche (Pittsburgh, PA), Nat Greenslet (Bennington, VT), and Jobeth DIaz Osorio (Fajordo, PR) each collected multiple hits for the Lions.
