New Kensington Loses Close Game 14-12 Against Fayette

New Kensington started off hot, scoring 8 runs in the first two innings thanks to RBI singles from Senior Reise Matson, Junior Tim Morris, Freshman Karter Weitzel, and an RBI double from Juniors Thomas Santiago Jr.  and Max Oliveri would hit a solo homerun in the second inning, followed by an RBI single from Junior Braden Tristani. Fayette wouldn't go down easy, scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the second inning thanks to Burns RBI single, Segarra's groundout, and an error by New Kensington. The Lions would continue to score off of two sacrifice flies by Junior Max Oliveri, and a sacrifice fly from Junior Jared Busche. Fayette would find themselves down 12-8 in the final inning before scoring 6 runs and winning the game in walkoff fashion off of a home run by D'Andrea.

Sophomore James Auberzinsky took the hill for the lions, throwing 3 innings allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits to 3 strikeouts. Sophomore Jake Wilson would come in relief, recording a loss after allowing 6 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks.

Kaleb Shultz was the starting pitcher for Fayette, going 3 innings allowing 8 earned runs on 8 hits and 4 walks. AJ Segarra would come in relief and record a win after going 4 innings allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks.

Karter Weitzel, Max Oliveri, Reise Matson, Jared Busche, Thomas Santiago Jr., Braden Tristani, and Tim Morris all recorded RBIs in the loss.
