New Kensington Falls Short to Fayette, 17-15

New Kensington, PA - Fayette would start the party early, scoring three runs in the first inning thanks to RBI singles from Sawyer D'Andrea and Ethan Rendulic, making it a 3-0 ball game. New Kensington comes up swinging in the bottom half of the first inning, scoring 11 runs thanks to Sophomore Max Oliveri's triple, Senior Reise Matson's RBI double, Sophomore Nick Osbourne's RBI single, Junior Thomas Santiago Jr's 2 RBI single, Freshman Karter Weitzel's 2 RBI double, Max Oliveri 2 RBI double, a bases loaded walk, and a 2 RBI double by Junior Jared Busche. Fayette would put themselves back in the ball game after a 10 run third inning mostly thanks to a pair of 3 run home runs from C. Warrick and D. Bohna to put Fayette up 13-11. Fayette would add two runs in the fifth inning off of RBIs from A. Segarra and J. Iannou. Jared Busche would cut the deficit to 2 runs after a 2 RBI single in the fifth inning. D. Bohna would add a run for Fayette in the 7th inning on an RBI single. New Kensington would fight back in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring 2 runs off of a Tallon Auth 2 RBI single. However, it wasn't enough as New Kensington fell 17-15 to Fayette in a hard fought game.

Sophomore Eric Sonntag was the starting pitcher for New Kensington. Sonntag would record a loss after allowing 11 earned runs on 13 hits. 

Jonathan Gaynor was the starting pitcher for Fayette. Gaynor would record a surprising win after allowing 11 runs on 7 hits and 5 walks through just 0.2 innings of work. AJ Segarra would come in relief of Gaynor, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks while recording a save.

Karter Weitzel (2) , Max Oliveri (2) , Reise Matson , Nick Osborne (2) , Jared Busche (4) , Thomas Santiago Jr. (2) , Tallon Auth (2) all recorded RBIs in the loss.
