New Kensington Captures Second Conference Win 13-2

New Kensington, PA - Penn State Beaver got things started in the top of the first scoring 2 runs off of a triple by C. Cann and a single by A. Stribling. New Kensington would answer in the first and second inning thanks to senior Reise Matson (Kittanning, PA) and junior Braden Tristani (Knoch, PA) both recording RBIs. New Kensington would later go on to score 10 more unanswered runs in the fourth and Fifth inning off of RBIs from Matson, Sophomores Nick Osborne (Hermitage, PA), Zack Woolheater (Munhall, PA), Juniors Jared Busche (Pittsburgh,PA), and Max Oliveri (Pittsburgh,PA). New Kensington won due to mercy rule 13-2 in 5 innings.

Sophomore Lucas Springer (Stow, OH) was the winning pitcher for the Lions, pitching all five innings only allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 8 strikeouts. Springer records his second win of the 2023 season.

Aaron Stribling was the starter for Beaver, recording the loss while allowing 10 runs on 8 hits and 6 walks. Ricardo Elizondo came in relief giving up 3 runs without recording an out.

Reise Matson had an impressive performance at the plate, going 3-4 with a 2B and 6 RBIs.
