Vero Beach, FL - Despite allowing four runs in the second inning. The Lions defeated Delta College 13-7 on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Lions collected 19 hits and Delta College seven in the high-scoring affair.

The Lions opened up scoring in the first inning. New Kensington scored two runs when junior outfielder, Jared Busche (Pittsburgh, PA), singled.

The Lions scored six runs in the third inning. Junior utility, Max Oliveri (Pittsburgh, PA), senior catcher, Reise Matson (Kittaning, PA), Busche, and sophomore outfielder Jake Wilson (Fort Meyers, FL) powered the big inning with RBIs.

Junior pitcher, Tim Morris (Plum, PA) was the winning pitcher for the Lions. Morris surrendered two runs on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Sophomore pitcher, Jimmy Auberzinsky (Munhall, PA) started the game for the Lions. The righthander lasted one and one-third innings, allowing one hit and five runs while striking out two.
