DU BOIS, Pa. – On Saturday, the Penn State New Kensington volleyball team was defeated by Penn State DuBois by the score of 3-1. New Kensington came out strong to win the first sent 25-18, but could not hold on as the current PSUAC front runner DuBois took the next three sets.
The New Kensington Lions fall to 1-8 on the season and 0-6 in conference play following this loss.
The Lions were led by the freshman duo of Kylie DiLeo (Sprindale, Pa./ Springdale) and Gabby Wolfkill (Mifflin, Pa./Mifflin) who each put down seven kills. Freshman Kayla Unger (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) led the team with 19 assists and ten digs. Junior Bethany Baney (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) also contributed with ten digs.
The Lions will look to take down Penn State Shenango on Sunday, October 3rd.
