Stackiewicz Announced as Next Head Women's Volleyball Coach

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – Veteran coach Frank Stackiewicz is taking over the helm of the Penn State New Kensington women's volleyball team. Stackiewicz brings over fifteen years of volleyball coaching experience to the program.

In 2000, Stackiewicz founded Odyssey Sports, a girls' Junior Olympic volleyball program, and served as the club's president until 2017. During that span, he organized the club's tournament schedule, managed its camps, and coached various teams with players ranging from 14 to 17 years old, some finishing as high as fifth-place in the competitive Ohio Valley Region.

Stackiewicz also served as the head women's volleyball coach at Chatham University during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, where he oversaw all aspects of the program including recruiting and on-court instruction.

"Frank is just the person to take our volleyball program to the next level." said Megan Bratkovich, director of athletics. "His experience and knowledge of the game will help to strengthen the team's fundamental foundation as well as improve its tactical training and execution."

New Kensington's volleyball program is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw a seven-win improvement from the previous season and returns a strong core of student-athletes.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to coach the Penn State New Kensington women's volleyball team," Stackiewicz said. "Penn State New Kensington is an excellent environment to further your education and to continue playing volleyball.  I look forward to building on last season's success and to building a vibrant volleyball program."

Stackiewicz attended Penn State New Kensington before ultimately receiving his Bachelor's degree in secondary education chemistry in 1991 from Clarion University. He earned his Master's degree in secondary education counseling from Slippery Rock University in 1996.

Stackiewicz resides in Murrysville with his wife, Kristen, and four children Jake, a current member of the New Kensington baseball team, Rachel, Ryan, and Cole.
