Women's Volleyball Falls to PSU Beaver, CCBC

Monaca, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington Women's Volleyball team lost to Penn State Beaver 3-1 and County College of Beaver County 3-0 Saturday at Penn State Beaver. The losses drop the Lions to 6-11 overall and 5-8 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

In the first match against Penn State Beaver, freshman Kaylea Flick (Murrysville, Pa.) led the way with eleven kills, twelve assists, four service aces and five blocks. Sophomore Gina Batiz (Vandergrift, Pa.) chipped in with fourteen assists. Junior Cora Rejniak (Gibsonia, Pa.) and freshman Janet Surma (Lower Burrell, Pa.) each had thirteen digs and eight kills a piece.

Against CCBC, Flick led the Lions with nine kills. Batiz had seven assists. Rejniak again led the defense with fourteen digs.

Penn State New Kensington is back in action on Wednesday, October 18, when they host Penn State Greater Allegheny. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
