New Kensington Falls Short to Hazleton

Hazelton, Pa. – Penn State New Kensington were down by 10-pts. to Penn State Hazelton on Dec. 2.  

In the first half, Jayde Rivera (Dover, De.) brought PSNK up by 5-points. A 30-second timeout was called by Hazelton. Coming back, Hazelton was a point down before PSNK called a 30-second timeout. There was a tie at 6-6 before a layup by Hazelton broke it.  

PSNK led the game until Hazelton tied them at 12-12. A layup from Sarah Usko (Lower Burrell, Pa) brought PSNK 2-pts, although Hazelton slightly led. A layup by Jayde Rivera (Dover, De) brought PSNK up to 31-pts in the last minute of the second quarter. 

In the second half, Destiny Batiste (Thibodaux, La) and Jayde Rivera (Dover, De) brought PSNK to 35 -pts, Hazelton at 46. Hazelton calls full time out with under seven minutes left. PSNK is now at 38-pts, thanks to Esther Cole (Brooklyn, NY). 

PSNK called a 30-second timeout. PSNK caught up to 43-pts. before Hazelton called two full timeouts during the last minute. Jayde Rivera (Dover, De) and Destiny Batiste (Thibodaux, La) brought PSNK to 48-pts. before PSNK called a full timeout.  

Penn State New Kensington lost 48-58 to Hazelton.
