McGoff Set to Lead Women's Basketball into New Era

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – Penn State New Kensington is excited to announce the hiring of its new Head Women's Basketball Coach Mike McGoff. McGoff holds years of coaching experience at the college, high school, and AAU levels, including five years at Penn State Scranton.

"I look forward to the opportunity and challenge of continuing to build the Penn State New Kensington Women's Basketball program and being able to establish a strong program," said McGoff.

During his time at Penn State Scranton, McGoff served as assistant coach, associate head coach and head coach. He led the team to its first PSUAC playoff appearance in years during his year as head coach.

"I believe Mike has what it takes to shore up the foundation of this program and begin building upwards," said director of athletic Megan Bratkovich. "I've called on him to build a culture of trust within the program, and I believe he is the right person to do that."

Prior to PSU Scranton, McGoff coached for Mid Valley High School for three seasons. Additionally, he has coached with Backcourt Hoops AAU Program and has served as an instructor at various camps and clinics.

McGoff played his college ball at Misericordia University, graduating with his bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

"I look forward to putting PSNK women's basketball on the map and helping to grow it into a program to be proud of," added McGoff.
