New Kensington Clinches Lead in the Seventh Inning to Defeat Mont Alto

State College, PA - New Kensington snatched the lead late in the game in an 8-7 victory over Mont Alto on Sunday.  The game was tied at seven with New Ken batting in the top of the seventh when Molly Collins grounded out, scoring one run.

Bats blistered as New Kensington collected nine hits and Mont Alto tallied nine in the high-scoring game.

Mont Alto got on the board in the first inning when McKenna Sas singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Addyson Gregg led things off in the circle for New Ken. The bulldog lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out one. Maddie Hoyt came in to finish the game.

Delaney Glazer toed the rubber for Mont Alto. Glazer allowed six hits and six runs over six innings, striking out four.  Kirsten Dell threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Delaney Sierka went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead New Ken in hits. Clutch hits from Zoe King and Kiera Mack to seal the deal for New Kensington. 

Mont Alto totaled nine hits.  Abigail Cunningham, Sas, and Dell all managed multiple hits for Mont Alto.
