Men's Soccer Scores Early, Holds on for 1-0 Victory

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington soccer team won its fourth game in a row over PSUAC opponent Penn State Mont Alto Friday afternoon. With the win, New Kensington improves to 5-3-0 (4-1-0 PSUAC), while Mont Alto's record now stands at 0-5-1 (0-2-1 PSUAC).

Just seven minutes into the first half. freshman Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) scored his sixth goal of the season off a cross from fellow freshman Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford). That goal turned out to be the only one of the game despite New Kensington outshooting its opponent 24-12. 

Freshman goalkeeper Christopher Zolet recorded his fourth shutout of the year, making seven stops in goal for the Lions.

New Kensington starts a stretch of four road games Saturday, Oct. 6 when the team travels to Penn State Brandywine. The game is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
