Men's Soccer Picks up First Win at WCCC

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team picked up its first win in commanding fashion on Thursday afternoon against Westmoreland County Community College, 14-0. The Lions improve to 1-3 on the season. 

Freshman Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa./Penn Trafford) scored three goals and had three assists to lead New Kensington, while freshman Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) and sophomore Mitchell Kuczynski (Natrona Heights, Pa./St. Joseph) each also connected for hat tricks. Sophomore Andrew Perenic (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) had two goals and three assists and junior Nate Andrews (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sierra Catholic) netted one goal and had three helpers. Freshmen Ben Midlik (Hempfield Twp., Pa./Hempfield) and Kevin Morrow (Apollo, Pa./Lenape Tech) each added a goal to round out the scoring. 

New Kensington returns to action for its first home game and Penn State University Athletic Conference opener Wednesday, Sept. 19. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
