Men's Soccer Season Ends in PSUAC Semifinals

Media, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team saw its season come to end at the hands of Penn State Brandywine, 5-0 in the PSUAC Semifinals. The Lions, coached by Pat Cavanaugh, finish their season at 7-5-1. Brandywine (15-3) will advance to face Penn State Hazleton in the PSUAC Championship game.

New Kensington held off the PSUAC regular season champions until the 30th minute, when Brandon Crochunis scored for Brandywine. The teams went into half-time with Brandywine up 1-0, but Daniel Willie scored in the first minute of the second half. Chris Riebman scored once and Jack Sweeney scored twice to extend the lead to 5-0. 

Freshman Andrew Perenic (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) tallied the only two shots on goals for New Kensington, while sophomore Joshuas Zakrzewski (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) recored six saves in goal.
