Men's Soccer Rolls Against Penn State Mont Alto

Mont Alto, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer team beat host Penn State Mont Alto 7-1 Saturday. The win moves New Kensington to 5-4-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. 

Sophomore Cy Milko (Plum, Pa.) opened up the scoring for the Lions in the 8th minute with his first goal of the season. Less than three minutes later, freshman Jorge Oliver (Gibsonia, Pa.) found the net off a pass from sophomore Paul Kozuch (Ford City, Pa.) to increase the lead to 2-0. In the 19th minute, senior Pascal Bikanura (Pittsburgh, Pa.) contributed an unassisted goal that would take New Kensington into halftime with a 3-0 lead. 

Freshman Matt Matsey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored the Lions' first goal of the second half, followed by another from Bikanura, his eleventh on the season, to extend the lead to five. Skyler Miller netted Mont Alto's lone goal before New Kensington added its last two scores. Junior Dylan Hamilton (New Kensington, Pa.) connected for his seventh goal of the season and freshman Mitchell Kuczynski (Natrona Heights, Pa.) added his first career goal to round out the scoring. 

Senior Cody Shoemaker (Vandergrift, Pa.) recorded six saves in goal for the Lions.

Penn State New Kensington travels to Penn State Beaver on Wednesday, October 18, for its last regular-season match-up. Start time is 4:00 p.m.
