Men's Soccer Defeats Penn State Schuylkill on Senior Day

New Kensington, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer team defeated Penn State Schuykill, 2-0, Saturday afternoon on the campus of PSNK. The win moves the Lions to 4-4-1 on the season and 3-3-1 in the Penn State University Athletics Conference. Penn State Schuylkill falls to 4-7 overall and 3-4 in the PSUAC. 

The game was scoreless until the 75th minute, when freshman Andrew Perenic (Gibsonia, Pa.) crossed the ball to sophomore Ryan Stanga (West Deer, Pa.). Stanga sunk a header into the upper right corner to give PSNK a 1-0 advantage. In the 84th minute, senior forward Pascal Bikanura (Pittsburgh, Pa.) dribbled the ball up the middle and found an opening in the lower left of the goal to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.

Sophomore Joshua Zakrzewski recorded the shut-out win, making 3 saves in net for New Kensington.

This afternoon marked the last home game for seniors Bikanura and Cody Shoemaker (Vandergrift, Pa.). 

Penn State New Kensington has a week off before heading to Penn State Mont Alto for a PSUAC match-up. Kick off is set for 2:00 p.m.
