The Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer team took the field for their season opener this afternoon. Senior Pascal Bikanura led New Kensington to a 3-3 tie against conference foe Penn State York, providing two goals and one assist. 

York jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals by Casey Tober and Carter Miller both within the first fifteen minutes of play. New Kensington remained resilient and answered back with its first goal of the season when Bikanura found the back of the net in the 29th minute. 

New Kensington took advantage of an opportunity on a penalty kick taken by Bikanura to even the score 2-2 early in the second half. The two teams battled for the rest of the half, and it would seem that they were headed for overtime when York got its own opportunity for a penalty kick in the 87th minute. Joshua Zakrzewski saved Tober's PK attempt, but Tober was able to find the goal on the rebound. 

New Kensington answered right back as freshman Jorge Oliver beat York's goalkeeper off a cross from Bikanura, tying the game back up at 3-3. The teams then fought through two overtime periods, but neither found the net. 

Zakrzewski made nine saves in goal for New Kensington, while Maksim Zingman saved 3 attempts for York. 

New Kensington finds itself back on its home field tomorrow for a non-conference match against Westmoreland County Community College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
