Penn State New Kensington golf team shot a 350 total to finish seventh Monday (Sept. 25) in the PSUAC White Invitational at the Penn State White Course in State College, Pa. Sophomore Dan Smith (Central Catholic) had an 82 to lead the New Kensington Lions to their best finish in the nine-team, two-tournament Penn State University Athletic Conference regular season series. Freshman Collin McCune (Gateway) had an 87, sophomore Bobby Piskor had a 90 and sophomore Jason Fruh shot 91 to round out the scoring for New Kensington. The Lions improved by 18 strokes since taking eighth place on Sept. 7. At the Penn State Blue Course.
Brian Zinman of Penn State Lehigh Valley fashioned a 71 for medalist honors. Lehigh Valley earned team honors with a collective 313. New Kensington's next match is noon, Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the BC3 Invitational at Lake Arthur Country Club.
