Penn State New Kensington sophomore Dan Smith (Central Catholic) shot 77 and freshman Collin McCune (Gateway) shot 79 to take fourth and sixth, respectively, Thursday at the Lehigh Valley Invitational at the Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa. As a team, the New Kensington Lions finished with a 368 total in the opener of the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC). Smith was an All-PSUAC selection a year ago, after a fifth-place finish in the PSUAC championships. Brian Zinman of Penn State Lehigh Valley fashioned a 73 for medalist honors. Penn State DuBois took the team title with a 318. New Kensington's next match is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the DuBois Country Club.
