Men's Basketball Ends Season with Loss to Beaver

MONACA, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington men's basketball team lost its final game of the season to Penn State Beaver Tuesday night, 88-65. New Kensington ends its year with a 4-17 record and 2-14 in the PSUAC. It was also the last game for Beaver, who finished the season 9-16 and 6-10 in the PSUAC.

Beaver jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first minutes of the game and extended its lead to 24 points with 5:17 remaining in the first half. From there, two threes from Dorian Broadwater (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) and a pair of jumpers from Keith Corbett (Silver Spring, Md./Methodist) attempted to chip away at the margin. The teams headed into the locker room the score at 43-24. The closest New Kensington would come to Beaver in the second half was 13 points, as Beaver held on for the 88-65 win.

Broadwater and Corbett both finished with 19 points. Corbett also grabbed eleven rebounds for his eight double-double of the season. Sophomore Juwan Willis (Swissvale, Pa./Woodland Hills) registered 16 points. 

The game marked the last in the careers of seniors Broadwater and Brandon Burchette (Tarentum, Pa./Highlands).
