Lehigh Valley Tops New Kensington in PSUAC Men's Basketball

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington men's basketball team dropped a PSUAC contest to Penn State Lehigh Valley Friday night, 81-63. Senior Dorian Broadwater (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) led all players with 18 points. New Kensington falls to 4-11 overall and 2-8 in PSUAC, while Lehigh Valley improves to 6-9 and 5-5. 

Junior Antonio Hill (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) kept the game close to start, scoring six of New Kensington's first eleven points. Lehigh Valley extended its lead to 25-14, but Wilson Rojas (Pittsburgh, Pa./Havelock) hit a field goal followed by a three-pointer to keep the game within reach. Lehigh Valley again began to pull away and finished the first half with a 43-28 advantage. The visitors kept their lead of at least eleven points during the entire second half, with New Kensington shooting just 26.5 percent from the field. 

Four Lions scored in double digits. Broadwater finished with 18 points and ten rebounds for his third double-double of the year. Junior Keith Corbett (Silver Springs, Md./Methodist) registered his fourth double-double with twelve points and eleven boards. Hill added 14 points while sophomore Juwan Willis (Swissvale, Pa./Woodland Hills) tallied 13 points. 

New Kensington looks to rebound against Penn State Brandywine Saturday, Jan. 27. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
