Men's Basketball Cruises Against Worthington-Scranton behind 34 Points from Broadwater

SCRANTON, Pa. - Dorion Broadwater (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) continued his stellar senior campaign by putting up 34 points Saturday night against Penn State Worthington-Scranton. Broadwater's performance contributed to a 90-67 team victory, improving the Lions' record to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in Penn State University Athletic Conference play.  Worthington-Scranton falls to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in the PSUAC.

Worthington-Scranton found the basket first, but New Kensington immediately went on a 14-0 run with Broadwater and Juwan Willis (Swissvale, Pa./Woodland Hills) adding five points each. Willis added another five points during a 9-0 run later in the half that extended the lead to 28-8. New Kensington entered half-time with a 52-25 lead and a 28-19 advantage on the boards. During the second half, New Kensington maintained its distance with junior Antonio Hill (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) tallying 13 points in the period. 

Three Lions produced double-doubles on the night. Broadwater grabbed eleven rebounds to go with his 34 points. Hill finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds while also adding 8 assists. Freshman Mitchell Kuczynski (Natrona Heights, Pa./St. Joseph) put up eleven points and grabbed 15 boards. Willis finished with 20 points. 

Penn State New Kensington travels to Penn State Fayette on Tuesday, Dec. 5, for another PSUAC contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
