Men's Basketball Drops PSUAC Contest to Penn State Wilkes-Barre

LEHMAN, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington men's basketball team fell on the road to Penn State Wilkes-Barre despite 29 points from Dorian Broadwater (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley). The loss drops the Lions' record to 0-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference and 2-5 overall. Wilkes-Barre improves to 2-0 in the PSUAC and 5-3 on the season.

Wilkes-Barre jumped out to a 17-4 lead early in the first half, but New Kensington worked its way back to tie the game at 27 with five minutes left in the period. Wilson Rojas (Pittsburgh, Pa./Havelock) and Juwan Willis (Swissvale, Pa./Woodland Hills) each drained three-pointers during the 23-10 run. Wilkes-Barre maintained its distance throughout the second half, leading by as many as 31 points, en route to the 94-73 victory.

Broadwater's 29 points led all players and marked the fifth time this season the senior registered more than 25 points. Willis finished with 16 points, while freshman Mitchell Kuczynski (Natrona Heights, Pa./St. Joseph) chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds. Antonio Hill (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) led New Kensington in rebounds and assists with eleven and seven, respectively.
