Men's Basketball Tops CCAC-Boyce, 82-73

McKeesport, Pa. - Senior Dorian Broadwater (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) netted 35 points to lead the Penn State New Kensington men's basketball team to victory over County College of Allegheny County-Boyce Saturday. The game was the team's second in the Penn State Greater Allegheny Tip-Off Tournament this weekend. With the win, the Lions improve to 2-3 on the season.

New Kensington never trailed in the game, jumping out to a 15-6 lead behind eight points from Broadwater and seven from sophomore Javon Turner (Beaver Falls, Pa./Beaver Falls). CCAC-Boyce fought back to tie things up at 26 points a piece with six minutes to go in the first half. However, the Lions finished the half by going on a 17-8 run with 10 of those points coming from sophomore Juwan Willis (Swissvale, Pa./Woodland Hills). At the half, New Kensington led 43-34.

The Lions kept CCAC-Boyce at a distance the entire second half en route to an 82-73 victory. Broadwater grabbed five rebounds to go with his 35 points. Turner led the team with ten rebounds and six assists to go with 22 points. Willis finished with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists.

New Kensington is back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 28, when they will host Penn State DuBois in their home-opener. Tip-off is set of 7:00 p.m.
