PSNK Basketball Loses to Wilkes Barre in an Overtime Thriller

The Penn State New Kensington Men's Basketball team (4-11, 3-6) fell short in overtime against Penn State Wilkes Barre (10-8, 7-2) on Friday at the Athletic Center, 81-79.

Penn State New Kensington held the lead for the majority of the game.  Jordan Williams scored a game high of 23 points. Shaquille Hager and Darryl Harrington also contributed to the game with 15 points. PSNK controlled the first half with a lead of 38-29, before allowing PSWB to come charging back late in the second half. PSWB capped a terrific comeback when Emmanuael Young converted a crucial foul shot that would propel the game into overtime. Keith Johnson, who finished with a team high of 21 points, hit the shot that would eventually be the game winner.

This game was a tale of two halves. PSNK frustrated the Wilkes Barre team in the first half with tenacious defense and hustle, but following halftime there came a change in momentum. PSWB picked up their physicality in the second half, pressuring almost every possession that would lead to some costly turnovers late in the game by PSNK.
