Du Bois Sweeps Series with Another Explosive Offensive Outing
Penn State Du Bois continued their red-hot offensive stretch with a convincing 13–4 win over Penn State New Kensington, completing the series sweep in dominating fashion. Fueled by a six-run first inning and a relentless attack throughout, Du Bois controlled the game from start to finish.
Du Bois jumped out of the gate early in the first. Grant Lillard ripped a two-run triple before Jake Sikora and Cole Slaugenhoup each delivered run-scoring hits to cap a six-run frame. The offensive surge didn't stop there, as Du Bois tacked on runs in five separate innings, including a four-run fifth that effectively put the game out of reach.
Kyle Elensky led the charge with a 2-for-3 day and two runs scored, while Isaac Tiracorda contributed in all facets—scoring three times, stealing a base, and driving in a run. Braylen Corter added an RBI double, and Slaugenhoup notched an RBI double of his own in the first inning rally.
On the mound, Taylor Boland (1-0) picked up the win, working four innings and allowing four runs (three earned) while striking out one. The Du Bois bullpen was lights out, as Josh Ross, Austin Mitchell, and Joe Tettis combined for three shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four.
For Penn State New Kensington, Chris Magnee provided the highlight with a two-run homer in the fourth. Adrian Cruz chipped in with a 2-for-3 performance, including a double and an RBI. Despite putting up four runs across the first four innings, New Kensington couldn't keep pace with the powerful Du Bois offense.
Cole Lambdin (0-1) was tagged with the loss, giving up 12 runs (11 earned) on nine hits over 4.2 innings.
